Outer Space Smell Like "Steak" Burn Out

Outer space turned out to have a smell which mostly originate from dying stars. The mixture of diesel smoke, hot metal, and the aroma of burnt barbeque's, something like that's the smell of space. The mixture smells of dead star called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

According to the inventor and Director of Laboratory Astrophysics and NASA Ames Research Center astrochemist, Louis Allamandola, the molecules seem to be in the whole space. "This molecule is also flying in there forever, in comets, meteors and space dust," he said. Hydrocarbon was even touted as an early form of life on Earth. Therefore, hydrocarbons may be found in coal, oil, and foods.

Astronauts often report smelling grilled steak after a walk in space. Although humans can not breathe smells in space, while astronauts outside the space station, space component compound and stick on their clothes and go into the station.

The smell wafted with a clear space of three years ago when NASA ordered Steven Pearce, fragrances maker Omega, to go back and create a scent that is suitable for simulation.

Allamandola explain, our solar system because it smells sharp and spicy rich in carbon and low oxygen. The analogy with the car. If the lack of oxygen in the car, it will show black soot and foul odor. Oxygen-rich stars smell like charcoal roasted.

When later we can leave the galaxy, the smell will be more interesting. In a dark space full of dust and molecules, the smell of sweet sugar until the smell of rotten eggs and sulfur will smell.
